Last night I was delighted to attend the launch of the Atlas Foundation, established by Jason Leonard, OBE, ex rugby international and President of the RFU 2015 – 2016, during the Rugby World Cup.
The Atlas Foundation has been established to manage and promote worldwide charity projects, benefitting all ages, delivering educational, social and sporting skill development projects, where rugby is used as the facilitating mechanism. Their aim is to match appropriate and legitimate charity requirements with specific funders to allow maximum impact value for the funder’s social responsibility objectives. As the hype, anticipation and interest surrounding the Rugby World Cup 2015 heats up, The Atlas Foundation and Jason see this as a major opportunity to evoke a legacy that will significantly change the support of rugby based charities for the long term.
Perhaps most excitingly, despite the charity's global reach, many of the people who made it happen are from Exeter!
See who you can spot in the photo!
